What a hydrophobic wash actually does
“Hydrophobic” means water-repelling. The sealant we use is silica based (SiO₂). It bonds to the clear coat rather than sitting loosely on top of it like a traditional wax, and it lowers the surface tension of the paint.
With that lower surface tension, water cannot spread out flat. It pulls into beads and runs off the panel, carrying dust and road film with it — which is why people describe sealed cars as self-cleaning in the rain. Less standing water also means fewer mineral deposits left behind as droplets dry, so dark paint stops looking spotted after every shower.
It is not a permanent ceramic coating and it will not fix existing swirl marks. What it does is keep the car cleaner for longer, dry faster after a rinse, and make the next wash easier.

Common questions
Do I need an appointment?
Washes are generally walk-in. Detailing packages are by appointment, since a Complete Detail takes most of a day.
What is not included in the Ultimate Wash?
The Ultimate Wash does not include the trunk, and it does not include tyre and rim care. If you want both, the Deluxe Wash at $59.99 plus HST covers everything.
How long does a hydrophobic sealant last?
Expect several weeks of strong beading from a single application, depending on weather, parking and how often the car is driven. It builds up the more often you have it done.
Is a hand wash safe on a ceramic-coated car?
Yes — hand washing is the recommended way to maintain a coated car. We use pH-balanced soap that will not strip the coating.
Do you wash trucks and large SUVs?
Yes. Larger vehicles may carry a small surcharge; ask when you book.
